A school by the market, not a takeaway kitchen

Stove Bench runs a shift at the board. A dining room, waiters, and a “set for two” do not belong here.

Why Levinsky

The school sits in the market district of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Levinsky 32. In the morning we take fish, greens, and spices from a short walk — and put them on the teaching boards at once. The program is built from the delivery, not from a menu photo.

Shifts are short: Sunday–Thursday 09:00–18:00, Friday until 13:00, Saturday closed. October 2026 is the current intake. A group is no more than six people: that is how many burners we have.

Who leads the shift

Maya Shalev, knives course teacher

Maya Shalev

Knives & cutting. Watches the grip and makes sure the onion does not “cry” into the pot in pieces of every size.

Maya’s course
Ari Levi, yeast dough teacher

Ari Levi

Dough & yeast. Starter, challah braids, the proofing window. He does not bake cakes to order — that is another trade.

Ari’s course
Noa Bar, evening table teacher

Noa Bar

Evening table on six stoves. Teaches a plating for six so nothing goes cold on the stove.
